Should I Start Rashid Shaheed for Fantasy Football?
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has embodied the concept of a boom-or-bust player this season, delivering three games with 18 or more PPR points but also experiencing seven games with less than eight points. Despite an inconsistent target share, the 25-year-old has showcased notable big-play ability, establishing himself as a formidable vertical threat.
In Week 16, the Saints face the Rams, who have allowed the 15th-most points per game to receivers this season. With New Orleans sitting at five-and-a-half point underdogs, the team may find themselves in a situation that requires an increased passing volume. While Shaheed poses a constant threat to make a long touchdown catch, his fantasy value is heavily reliant on finding the end zone. He ranks as a WR4 for Week 16.
He is the WR46 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Alvin Kamara for Fantasy Football?
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has had a stellar fantasy performance this year, ranking third among all running backs with an impressive average of 19.78 points per game over 11 games played. Notably, he has consistently delivered, scoring at least 11 PPR points in every game this season, with four instances of reaching 20 or more points. In Week 15, Kamara showcased his versatility by rushing 16 times for 66 yards and catching all five targets for an additional 44 yards.
Looking ahead to Week 16, the Saints are set to face the Rams, who have allowed the third-fewest points per game to running backs this season. Despite this challenging matchup, Kamara's track record suggests that he will continue to be a focal point of the offense, with at least 15 touches in all but one game this year. Given his expected involvement in the passing game, especially in a scenario where the Saints may be playing from behind, Kamara remains a must-start RB1 for Week 16.
He is the RB3 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Chris Olave for Fantasy Football?
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave currently holds the WR22 position in PPR formats, boasting an average of 14.45 points per game. The former Ohio State standout has been consistent, securing at least 10 points in seven of his last eight games and registering at least eight targets in a game on 10 occasions this season. Despite missing Week 15 due to an ankle injury, Olave is set to return in Week 16 and has been deemed "good to go" with no injury designation.
In the upcoming matchup against the Rams, who allow the 15th-most points per game to receivers this season, Olave's skills align well with the defensive tendencies of the Rams, who frequently use cover three. Notably, Olave has been effective against cover-three, averaging 2.46 yards per route run in such situations. With the expectation that the Saints will be throwing often, given Derek Carr's pass attempts line set at 33.5, Olave is positioned as a solid WR2 for Week 16.
He is the WR17 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
