Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso (lower body) has been loaded to the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins for a conditioning stint. The 29-year-old has been limited to just 19 games with the Red Wings this season due to lower-body injuries. He suffered an original lower-body injury in a Dec. 18 contest against the Ducks, forcing him out until Feb. 13. However, he left that game against the Oilers after just 8:48 due to an aggravation of the ailment and hasn't appeared in a game since. The former St. Louis Blues netminder struggled to a 3.55 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage in the NHL this season while Alex Lyon has taken over the crease in Husso's absence.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso (lower body) won't be available Thursday versus Vancouver and is considered week-to-week. Making his first appearance since Dec. 18, Husso was hurt against Edmonton on Tuesday, and it will now take a while before he will be available again. The Finnish netminder has put together a 9-5-2 record in 2023-24, allowing 3.55 goals with a .892 save percentage. Alex Lyon has received most of the starts in recent months and will continue to carry a heavy load.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso (lower body) was activated off IR and loaned to AHL Grand Rapids to begin a conditioning stint. Husso hasn't played since December 18 due to a lower-body injury, so he will get some time in the minors before resuming his role in Detroit. Unfortunately for Husso and his fantasy owners, he might have lost the starter job to Alex Lyon while he was out. Lyon has gone 11-6-1 with a 2.67 GAA, .917 SV%, and 8.8 GSAA. On the other hand, Husso is 9-5-2 with a 3.53 GAA, .893 SV%, and -6.0 GSAA. Fantasy owners should hold Husso for now, but he has a short leash.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Ville Husso is back in the crease for Wednesday's road contest against the New York Rangers. The former Blues netminder has seen his playing time take a notable dip of late as he has made just one start since Nov. 11 but prevailed with a 5-2 win over the Boston Bruins. It was just the second time in 11 starts this season Husso has allowed fewer than three goals. The Finn is battling both James Reimer and Alex Lyon for playing time in the Red Wings' crease and another solid outing against a tough Rangers team would go a long way toward increased playing time. The 28-year-old owns a 3.47 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage in his 11 appearances this season.
