1 year agoWith Ian Machado Garry versus Vicente Luque cancelled, the featherweight fight between Josh Emmett and Bryce Mitchell has been bumped up to the UFC 296 main card. Emmett was first slated to take on Giga Chikadze at UFC 296. About two weeks before making the walk, Chikadze suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of the fight. Emmett has dropped two straight after a five-fight winning streak. The California native lost to Yair Rodriguez in an interim title fight at UFC 284 back in February and then fell to Ilia Topuria in June. DraftKings sees Emmett as the underdog with a salary of $7,300. He averages 69.4 fantasy points per contest throughout 13 UFC bouts.

2 years agoJosh Emmett is now on a losing skid after being dominated by Ilia Topuria in the main event of UFC Jacksonville on Saturday. Emmett entered the fight coming off a submission loss to Yair Rodriguez for the interim featherweight title back in February. In the fight, Emmett was badly out-struck 171-89 and was also controlled for 3:35, and he didn't stuff one of Topuria's three takedown attempts. With the loss, Emmett falls to 9-4 in the UFC and said he wasn't sure what would be next for him after the loss. If he does continue to fight, he likely will get another up-and-comer.

2 years agoIlia Topuria picked up the biggest win of his career in his first UFC main event when he dominated Josh Emmett over all five rounds to win a lopsided unanimous decision on Saturday. Topuria out-struck Emmett 171 to 89 and even picked up a rare 10-7 scorecard by one judge as he nearly finished the 38-year-old multiple times. With the victory, Topuria should be next in line to face the winner of Alexander Volkanovski versus Yair Rodriguez for the featherweight title.

Emmett will be headlining his third UFC event this Saturday and is 1-1 in main-event spots in the UFC. Although Emmett is 9-3 in the UFC, he's the betting underdog, as DraftKings has him at a salary of $6,700, the lowest salary on the card. In his UFC career, Emmett is averaging 72.22 fantasy points per fight and has finished just three fights in the UFC. A win over Ilia Topuria could earn Emmett a No. 1 contender fight next time out.
