BALLER MOVE: Sit in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts might be the most frustrating player in the history of fantasy football. The young tight end has arguably the most natural talent of any tight end in the NFL. Yet, fantasy players have trouble trusting him in their starting lineup because of his situation in Atlanta with Arthur Smith on the sidelines.
The third-year player is the TE14 for the year, averaging 6.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. After a five-game slump, Pitts has been solid the past two weeks. He had arguably his best performance this season in Week 14, totaling 57 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 13.2 fantasy points in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last week was only the third time this year that Pitts scored more than 7.7 fantasy points. Fantasy players shouldn’t expect a repeat performance today against the Carolina Panthers. The NFC South division rivals have held tight ends to 7.7 fantasy points per game, the seventh-fewest in the NFL.
Pitts had only 5.4 fantasy points in the Week 1 matchup against the Panthers. While fantasy players want to trust the talented tight end, Pitts belongs on the bench in all leagues with 12 or fewer teams.
