BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has had a disappointing season that has been marred by injuries, split carries, and inefficient output. He has only been able to play in seven games, and in those seven games, he has rushed 66 times for 245 yards and just two touchdowns. His per carry average and his success rate are both the lowest or second-lowest of his seven-year career.
Jones ranks as the RB48 in total scoring (standard) and is averaging fewer points per game than Najee Harris. He has missed the past three games with a knee injury, but after logging three limited practices this week, Jones is listed as questionable and is expected to play.
Should you start Aaron Jones against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? The Bucs have a strong run defense that is limiting opposing running backs to 3.9 yards per attempt, the ninth-fewest in the league. Opposing fantasy running backs are scoring the eleventh-fewest points against the Bucs.
On top of that, when you consider the severity of the injury Jones is coming back from and his durability concerns earlier this season, it is hard to say Jones will get many carries. The Packers might try to ease him back into the lineup.
Jones ranks as the RB32 and the overall 73rd-best fantasy option this week in RotoBaller's tiered PPR rankings. That makes him a potential start at Flex.
