11 months agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason will reprise last week's role as Christian McCaffrey's backup this Sunday in Arizona against the Cardinals. With regular backup Elijah Mitchell (knee) ruled out in Week 14, Mason took four carries for 20 yards and a touchdown while only playing 11 percent of offensive snaps. The touchdown was fluky, as it came on the play immediately after McCaffrey ripped off a 72-yard run on the first play of the game. Mitchell is out again this week but banking on CMC coming out of the game at the goal line again is a losing proposition for fantasy managers. To be fair, Mason has looked good with his chances while averaging 5.4 yards per carry this year but without more touch volume, he's only useful as a stash. He should stay firmly on fantasy benches in Week 15.--Brad Beltz - RotoBaller
