Aaron Ekblad Injured In Thursday's Contest
1 year agoFlorida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad sustained a lower-body injury in Thursday's matchup against Vancouver. He logged 12:29 of ice time in the contest and had only 15 shifts. However, it appears as though pulling him from the game was only a precautionary move by the Panthers, as head coach Paul Maurice said postgame that Ekblad should be considered "less than day-to-day." Florida is back at it on Saturday versus Edmonton. Ekblad skated in only his 13th game of the year on Thursday after missing the start of the season following shoulder surgery. He's looked in good form, contributing four assists while totaling 14 hits and 21 blocks with a plus-six rating.
