Nico Collins Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Early in Sunday's loss to the New York Jets, Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins caught a 13-yard pass that put him over 1,000 yards on the season. However, that would be the only reception Collins had in the game. He went to the locker room later in the drive and did not return due to a calf injury.
The Texans have yet to clarify Collins' status for Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans, but it would be a bit surprising to see him back on the field so soon after a calf strain.
While it's still possible he suits up, fantasy managers should plan to be without him against the Titans.
Nico Collins Fantasy Football Outlook
The Texans head into Week 15 with a lot of injury concerns. In addition to Collins dealing with this calf injury, quarterback C.J. Stroud is in concussion protocol and wide receiver Tank Dell is already on IR. There's a good chance that we'll see Davis Mills throwing passes to Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III, which would not be great for the Texans in a big matchup against Tennessee.
Collins is a strong WR2 option if he plays and Stroud plays. He's a borderline WR2/3 if he plays and Stroud is out. He's obviously not a fantasy option at all if he's out because...well, do I really need to explain why you shouldn't play someone who won't play?
