Dallas Goedert Injury Update
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) is off the injury report and will go on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14 on Sunday night after practicing in full all week and being officially removed from the injury report. The 28-year-old suffered a forearm injury back in Week 9 when these two teams last met. In just about one half of football, Goedert caught three of four targets for 50 yards and was on his way to a solid fantasy performance before suffering a fractured forearm.
Dallas allows the 13th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this year and are tied for the third-most touchdowns allowed to the position. Even if his snaps are limited in his first week back, fantasy managers can throw the Eagles starting tight end right back into their lineups in Week 14.
Dalton Schultz Injury Update
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (hamstring) missed another practice on Friday and has been ruled out ahead of Week 14 versus the New York Jets. For the second consecutive week, he'll be inactive, leaving Brevin Jordan in line to handle No. 1 tight end duties. Jordan is a mid-range fantasy TE2 until Schultz returns to the fold.
Taysom Hill, Juwan Johnson Injury Update
New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) and Juwan Johnson (quadriceps) are questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Hill didn't practice at all this week and it seems as though he faces an uphill battle to suit up. Nevertheless, the Saints are leaving the door open for him to play. Johnson, on the other hand, was a limited participant and could be a game-time decision.
Of the two, Hill is the only one who should be started with confidence in fantasy football (if he plays, of course). The added benefit of starting him is that he could also log some reps at quarterback.
Dawson Knox Injury Update
Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox (wrist) practiced in full all week long but remains questionable to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Knox is still on injured reserve and will need to be activated by 4 p.m. EST Saturday in order to suit up this week. He's expected to be active but can be left on waivers in most leagues given that Dalton Kincaid has emerged as Buffalo's clear No. 1 tight end.
Hayden Hurst Injury Update
Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion) has officially been ruled out for the Week 14 game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Hurst actually returned to practice this week on a limited basis, but he was diagnosed with post-traumatic amnesia from the concussion he suffered in Week 10 and will now miss his fourth straight game. Hurst said his head injury isn't career-threatening, but this is not a matter he nor the Panthers will take lightly.
Tommy Tremble (hip) missed the Week 13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is questionable to play this weekend, as well as Stephen Sullivan (shoulder), so the Panthers could be down to Ian Thomas as their starting tight end against the Saints. Fantasy managers should continue to avoid Carolina's tight end situation.
Tyler Higbee Injury Update
Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (neck) is listed as doubtful to play in Week 14's contest against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, according to head coach Sean McVay. Higbee has not practiced this week and is most likely not going to suit up this weekend for the Rams. It will make things more difficult for quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense against a formidable defense in Week 14.
Higbee hadn't been drawing a ton of targets, but his pass-catching role will now fall to some combination of tight ends Hunter Long and Brycen Hopkins, neither of which should be used as streaming options at the position in standard-sized fantasy leagues. The 30-year-old Higbee has been a low-upside TE2 for most of 2023, catching 34 passes on 55 targets for 367 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyler Conklin Injury Update
New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin (hamstring) upgraded to a full participant in practice on Friday. He had been limited earlier in the week. The 28-year-old was officially removed from the injury report and will play against the Houston Texans in Week 14.
He continues to operate as the Jets' No. 1 tight end and even commanded nine targets last weekend versus Atlanta. However, the struggles of the Jets' passing game have made it impossible to trust him in fantasy football. He's a low-end TE2 for the time being.
