BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ PPR Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3
ANALYSIS: Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen is a solid fantasy WR3 heading into Sunday's road meeting with the New Orleans Saints.
The veteran wide receiver might rate higher if not for a couple of poor games in a row. After three 100-yard games earlier in the year, Thielen has cooled off lately. After a strong Week 11 showing against Dallas that saw him catch eight passes for 74 yards, the former Vikings star has just four total catches over the last two games.
In Week 12 against the Titans, he was targeted three times, catching one pass for two yards. Last week against the Buccaneers, he had three receptions for 25 yards. The improving play of wide receiver Jonathan Mingo has cut into Thielen's role a bit.
When these two teams met earlier in the season, Thielen saw nine targets, catching seven of those for 54 yards and a touchdown in the 20-17 loss. We can't forget how well he's played for much of the season, but we've got to temper expectations based on how the last two weeks have gone. Another poor showing would knock Thielen down into the WR4 range going forward.
