Najee Harris Injury Update for Fantasy Football
When the Steelers practiced on Monday, they got full participation out of their backfield, including Najee Harris.
However, Harris popped up on the injury report Tuesday after missing practice. He remained absent on Wednesday and is officially listed as questionable to play in Thursday's game against New England.
Najee Harris Fantasy Football Outlook
Harris has looked great in two games since the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, totaling 176 scrimmage yards and one touchdown during that span. Despite producing mixed results at times this season, the 25-year-old has generally been solid while handling a larger workload than teammate Jaylen Warren.
With that said, the odds are stacked against Harris this week, and not just because of his injury. The Patriots' run defense has been terrific over the last two weeks, holding Saquon Barkley to a season-low 46 rushing yards and Austin Ekeler to a season-low 18 rushing yards.
Between his injury and the difficult matchup, Harris should be benched in most fantasy leagues this week even if he's active.
If Harris does suit up, neither he nor Warren are very trustworthy in fantasy football. However, if Harris is inactive, it will be hard to justify benching Warren even amidst the unfavorable matchup. In such a scenario, he would see a significant workload, making him a fine volume-based RB3/FLEX play for fantasy managers in a bind.
