RotoBallers, the weekend has arrived, and Week 13 will be challenging to find a second quarterback with six teams on the bye in superflex and 2QB formats. The Giants, Ravens, Vikings, Raiders, Bills, and Bears are off this week. Fantasy managers could also be playing catchup after Thursday night's shootout between the Cowboys and Seahawks. We are here to guide you through the bye weeks and help set those winning lineups with our updated Week 13 fantasy football superflex rankings (2QB) for fantasy football. For those unfamiliar with superflex leagues, it's a format that allows you to start two quarterbacks but does not require you.
A few teams will have a new starting quarterback this week as Joe Flacco was named the Browns starter, and Bailey Zappe will be under center for New England. There's a lot of news and notes for Week 13; let's get right to it. Here's where key fantasy superflex options such as Brock Purdy, Sam Howell, Joe Flacco, Bailey Zappe, Gardner Minshew, Zack Moss, Courtland Sutton, Tank Dell, Christian Kirk, Christian Watson, Pat Freiermuth, and Cade Otton rank in Week 13.
Our updated fantasy football superflex rankings for Week 13 are put together by FSWA Hall Of Famer Scott Engel. In addition to our staff rankings, below you will find a summary of this week's important fantasy football injury news. There are always critical injuries to track, so check back until kickoff.

Week 13 Superflex Rankings Analysis
A new feature has been added to our weekly fantasy football rankings article. Below, you will find our fantasy football outlooks or the latest injury news for key options in Week 13, which gives readers a matchup preview of that player and advice on whether to start or avoid for the upcoming week. We provide outlooks for all 32 NFL teams, which can be found on our player profile pages and our fantasy football news desk.
Sam Howell, QB, Washington Commanders
Week 13 Superflex Rankings: 11
Coming off a rough Week 12, Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell could have a big outing in Week 13. This week, the Commanders are taking on a top-tier offense in the Miami Dolphins. Now, that may not sound like a great matchup for Washington's offense, but there is a chance that Miami runs out to an early lead against the Commanders' weak defense.
This would play into what Howell has been doing all season, throwing at an extremely high rate. If this game goes how most expect, the second-year quarterback could have a big performance based on the heavy pass volume needed to keep up with the Dolphins. With this in mind, Howell should be considered a solid QB1 in Week 13.
Bailey Zappe, QB, New England Patriots
Week 13 Superflex Rankings: 63
New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe has been named the team's starter ahead of the Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Zappe took over for Mac Jones in the second half of last week's loss to the New York Giants. Zappe went 9-for-14 with 54 passing yards and an interception in that half.
The Pats believe Zappe gives them a better chance to win, but it's tough to imagine him being much of an upgrade. It's worth noting that the team has also put together a package of plays for Malik Cunningham. Neither quarterback is recommended in any fantasy formats for this Week 13 matchup.
Joe Flacco, QB, Cleveland Browns
Week 13 Superflex Rankings: 71
Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco will be under center against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. Flacco last appeared in the NFL as a member of the New York Jets in the 2022 season, throwing for five touchdowns and four interceptions in five games. The Browns will turn to the veteran with rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson (concussion), who is still in the NFL's concussion protocol.
Just how much Flacco has left in the tank remains to be seen, but his insertion into the starting lineup isn't necessarily a downgrade for Cleveland's pass catchers. That being said, fantasy gamers shouldn't be starting Flacco in their leagues this week unless it's a desperation option in two-quarterback formats.
David Montgomery, RB, Detroit Lions
Week 13 Superflex Rankings: 30
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (foot) was removed from the final Week 13 injury report on Friday and will play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints on the road. Montgomery will continue to split backfield work with rookie first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs as he plays through a minor foot injury. Gibbs has earned more work next to Montgomery in the second half of the season, but Monty remains fantasy-relevant as a touchdown-dependent RB2 in starting lineups.
The 26-year-old has seen 39 rushing attempts for 263 yards (6.74 yards per carry) and three touchdowns in three games since missing two contests with a rib injury. Montgomery is less attractive in PPR leagues, but he's been money for fantasy managers in 2023 with touchdowns in all but one of his eight games played.
Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers
Week 13 Superflex Rankings: 92
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night in Week 13. The second-year receiver has got back on track over the past two weeks, finding the end zone twice and tallying 115 yards on seven receptions. Last week, Watson nearly reached 100 yards and led the team in receiving yards. Quarterback Jordan Love is finally starting to click with the former first-round pick, but the duo will have a tough time against the Kansas City secondary this weekend.
The Chiefs allow the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position and the fifth-fewest yards. Watson will need to find the end zone again and try to break off a big run to make fantasy managers happy in Week 13. If the matchup were better, the 24-year-old would be in the WR2 conversation, but against the Chiefs, consider Watson a WR3.
