Dallas Goedert Injury Update
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) is officially doubtful to play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The 28-year-old injured himself back in Week 9. Through his first nine contests this year, he caught 48 passes for 410 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 10.1 fantasy points per game (in PPR formats).
Although it appears unlikely that Goedert will play in Week 13, fantasy managers should feel optimism about the fact that he was able to practice on Friday. A Week 14 return is certainly possible for the mid-range fantasy TE1.
Trey McBride Injury Update
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) was listed as questionable for the Week 13 contest on Sunday in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. McBride did not practice on Wednesday before putting in limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, so he appears to be on the right side of questionable for this one. However, fantasy managers are going to want to check back on Sunday morning to make sure he's officially active.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a favorite target of quarterback Kyler Murray and has 20 catches on 25 targets for 234 yards in the three games since Murray returned from Injured Reserve. If McBride suits up this Sunday, fantasy managers should leave him in their starting lineups against the Steelers.
Dalton Schultz Injury Update
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (hamstring) has been ruled out for the Week 13 game against the visiting Denver Broncos on Sunday. Tight ends Brevin Jordan and Eric Saubert are expected to pick up the slack with Schultz injured. Jordan is probably the better speculative streaming option in very deep leagues, but rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud is more likely to rely on his group of receivers over Jordan/Saubert, though Tank Dell (calf) and Noah Brown (knee) are listed as questionable.
Schultz apparently injured himself in the Week 12 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and he finished with just one catch on two targets for two yards. It remains to be seen if Schultz will be healthy enough to play in Week 14 on the road against the New York Jets. Remove him from your starting fantasy lineups now and look for a replacement.
Hayden Hurst, Tommy Tremble Injury Update
Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst (concussion) has been ruled out for another game in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Tommy Tremble (hip) is doubtful to play on Sunday. Hurst will be missing his third straight game. With both tight ends injured, the Panthers will have to rely on a combination of Ian Thomas and Stephen Sullivan as they look to win only their second game of the season.
Thomas has more experience in the NFL, but he's scored only four touchdowns in six NFL seasons and has just three receptions for 45 yards in seven games for the Panthers this year. Sullivan, meanwhile has caught seven of his eight targets for 74 yards and no scores in five games in 2023. Fantasy managers in need of a TE should look elsewhere this weekend.
