BALLER MOVE: Start In Eight-Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR1
ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is always a strong fantasy option with WR1 upside. There's some reason for concern about his upside in Week 13 though, as the Eagles face a tough 49ers defense on Sunday. This 49ers defense has allowed the 12th-fewest passing yards per game this season.
Still, "12th-fewest" isn't really that scary, right? The 49ers have been stout against the run, but a good passing offense can move the ball on them. Smith's floor might be a little lower than usual this week, but he's still a must-start in all formats.
Last week, Smith faced a Buffalo Bills defense that allows fewer passing yards than the 49ers and he still feasted. Smith was targeted eight times, catching seven of those passes for 106 yards and one touchdown. It marked the third time in four games that Smith has found the end zone.
While there's some reason to be concerned about this matchup, Smith's simply too talented for fantasy managers to bench. Based on recent production, you probably don't even really need to temper your expectations for the former Alabama star.
