Injuries are always unfortunate for fantasy football. It's even more of a knife in the chest when the player who goes down is on pace for one of the best performances of the season.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave ran 22 routes in roughly one half. He secured seven of his nine targets for 114 yards. On the Saints' first drive of the second half, Olave went up for a contested catch and fell back to Earth directly onto his head. He is now in the league's concussion protocol.
New Orleans' wide receiver room is quickly losing its best weapons, as Olave isn't the only wideout in danger of missing time.

Chris Olave Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Michael Thomas is already on injured reserve with a knee injury. Rashid Shaheed left Sunday's game before Olave did with a thigh injury. Derek Carr may be without his three top receiving options against Detroit.
This season, it's been rare for a player to clear concussion protocol within one week. During New Orleans' bye week, Carr was in the concussion protocol and wasn't cleared until mid-week heading into their matchup against Atlanta. Not all concussions are the same. Clearance odds aren't high, but it's not impossible.
Chris Olave Fantasy Football Outlook
Olave seemed to be the biggest beneficiary of Thomas' absence and the Saints have a soft schedule ahead when it comes to pass defenses. When he's able to return to the field, the former Buckeye will slot right back into the high-end WR2 range.
If Olave is forced to miss Week 13, the Saints will rely on rookie A.T. Perry, Taysom Hill, and Juwan Johnson (who also was injured in Week 12 but did return) to catch passes. Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood will also be involved.
Translation: Be prepared for a lot of dump-off passes to Alvin Kamara.
