ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith has only finished with over 100 receiving yards once this season, but he's come so, so close lately, posting exactly 99 receiving yards in two of the last three games. That includes Monday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, when Smith was targeted eight times, hauling in six of those balls for 99 yards.
The game before against the Cowboys, Smith had just three catches for 51 yards, but he found the end zone in that one. The game before, he did both things—99 yards and a touchdown on seven catches in a win over Washington.
Smith's on a good little run heading into Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo definitely has the talent on defense to slow Smith down, as the team allows the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts.
However, the Chiefs allow the fifth-fewest and we saw what Smith did against them on Monday. He also had a solid five catches for 44 yards earlier this year against a Jets team that allows the second-fewest fantasy points to the position.
When all is said and done, Smith should be considered a solid WR2 play on Sunday against the Bills.
