Carolina Hurricanes goalie Antti Raanta (lower body) is set to start Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning after leaving early in Wednesday's contest. His early exit was apparently precautionary, with the Canes not taking any chances with the oft-injured tendy. Raanta should start the majority of Carolina's games while he is healthy and Frederik Andersen is on IR. Rookie Pyotr Kochetkov will spell Raanta and should get his fair share of action too. Both goalies are decent fantasy options on a team that should get them wins and good ratios. --Matt Garon - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta cleared waivers on Sunday and has been assigned to the AHL. The team decided to waive the veteran netminder following a string of poor performances from Raanta, who is sporting career-worst marks this season with a 3.61 goals-against average and a .854 save percentage. Raanta's lackluster performances have limited him to a mediocre 6-5-1 record. Since making his NHL debut in 2013-14 with Chicago, Raanta has been very reliable with his work, but things have gone horribly wrong for him in 2023-24. Over his last two appearances, Raanta allowed 10 goals on 54 shots to post a .815 save percentage. Carolina has summoned Yaniv Perets from the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL to work as Pyotr Kochetkov's backup on Sunday versus Washington.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 20-of-22 shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory against the Sabres. The 34-year-old was solid throughout the contest as he picked up his fourth win of the season to go along with a 2.83 goals against average and .877 save percentage through six appearances. Raanta is worth rostering across standard fantasy formats as the veteran netminder is expected to step up and serve as the number one option in the crease in the absence of starting goaltender Frederik Andersen, who is out indefinitely with a blood clotting issue. Raanta's next start is projected to take place on one half of the back-to-back over the weekend, where the Hurricanes will take on the Panthers and Lightning on the road.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta kicked away 20 pucks as he tallied his first shutout of the season Friday in a 3-0 win over San Jose. The veteran netminder made his third start of the year as Carolina completed a back-to-back. Frederik Andersen had 24 saves in a 3-2 overtime win against Seattle Thursday night, so things have started to improve for the Hurricanes at the back following some major struggles in keeping the puck out of their net. Raanta improved to 2-1-0 on Friday and has recorded a 3.06 goals-against average with a .867 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 25 of 26 shots on goal in Monday's 2-1 victory against the Islanders in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. Raanta earned the start over goaltender Frederik Andersen and made the most of it, as he improved to a perfect record of 7-0-0 with a 1.16 goals-against average, a .958 save percentage and one shutout in eight postseason home games dating back to the start of last season's playoffs. Raanta had a great performance and only surrendered a goal at even-strength in the closing minutes of the second period. Raanta will be back in the crease at home in Game 2 on Wednesday night as the Hurricanes attempt to take command of the series.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
