Thanksgiving is here, but that unfortunately does not give fantasy managers a break from tracking injuries to their key fantasy studs. We have the latest notable injury updates as of Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Fantasy football assets such as Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, Geno Smith, De'Von Achane, and more have been dealing with injuries ahead of Week 12. We have plenty of must-starts on this week's injury list with cloudy outlooks, so fantasy managers should be ready to pivot should things go south.

Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert Injury Update
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (hand) and running back Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) practiced in a limited capacity again on Thursday. Both players have been removed from the injury report and will be active for Friday afternoon's clash with the New York Jets. Hill has been truly elite this season, totaling 1,222 yards and nine touchdowns en route to ranking as the overall WR1 thus far.
Even as he prepares for a tough matchup against lockdown cornerback Sauce Gardner, Hill remains a must-start option in all fantasy leagues. Meanwhile, Mostert could be headed for increased volume if De'Von Achane (knee) is inactive or limited on Friday. He'll rank as a mid-to-low RB2 with a chance to rise in fantasy rankings if his rookie teammate doesn't suit up.
Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson Injury Update
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson (hamstring) and tight end T.J. Hockenson (ribs) were limited participants during practice on Thursday. This was the Vikings' first practice of the week, so the fact that both players were able to get on the field in some capacity is a good sign. In particular, this is great news for Hockenson as it seems like he should be able to suit up on Monday night.
Jefferson's status, on the other hand, is far less certain. Minnesota has made it clear that he won't be activated from injured reserve until he is 100 percent, which doesn't appear to be the case just yet.
De'Von Achane Injury Update
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (knee) is questionable to play against the New York Jets on Friday afternoon. The rookie suffered a knee injury in the opening quarter of his first game back from IR last Sunday and was unable to return. At this point, it seems like he could be a true game-time decision in Week 12. On a positive note, he has been able to practice in a limited capacity.
However, in less promising news, Miami signed Darrynton Evans to its active roster, making him the team's fourth running back and a potential candidate to be active over Achane this week. Even if active, Achane will likely have a reduced role on Friday, dropping him to the high-end RB3 tier.
Kenneth Walker Injury Update
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique) is doubtful to play on Thanksgiving night against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers on Thursday after suffering an oblique injury in the Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but he will have a chance to miss only one game and return in Week 13 to face the Dallas Cowboys next Thursday, Nov. 30.
It's a good sign that Walker isn't dealing with a serious injury, although fantasy managers won't have him available as a starting option in Week 12. Instead, rookie Zach Charbonnet will make his first career start. For the volume increase, Charbonnet will see a boost in fantasy value, but the poor matchup will keep his ceiling lowered as more of an RB3/flex against a stout 49ers defense.
Geno Smith Injury Update
The Seattle Seahawks listed quarterback Geno Smith (elbow) as questionable to play on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers, but NFL Network's Mike Garafolo writes that all indications have been that Smith is tracking to play on Thanksgiving. Smith injured his throwing elbow in the Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and had to leave the game, but he returned late in the fourth quarter and also led the team on a game-winning drive.
The 33-year-old veteran probably isn't going to be 100 percent on Thanksgiving, but he should be active. Smith gets a matchup against one of the best defenses in the NFL and will be without starting running back Kenneth Walker III (oblique). Fade Smith as a QB streamer in Week 12.
D'Onta Foreman Injury Update
Chicago Bears running back D'Onta Foreman (knee, ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice. This was the Bears' first official practice of the week, so Foreman still has time to recover before kickoff on Monday night.
Nevertheless, it's a suboptimal report out of Chicago as the veteran's fantasy value dwindles following the return of Khalil Herbert. Regardless of his status this week, Foreman should be avoided in all fantasy leagues versus the Minnesota Vikings.
