Angels Pick Up Alan Rangel
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Angels signed right-hander Alan Rangel to a minor-league deal on Tuesday. The 26-year-old hurler has yet to make his major-league debut. He spent the 2023 campaign in the Atlanta Braves organization and went 4-16 with a 4.61 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 50 walks and 140 strikeouts in 127 innings pitched over 26 appearances (25 starts) at Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. In eight minor-league seasons, Rangel has pitched to a 4.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 239 walks and 764 strikeouts in 749 1/3 innings over 169 appearances (142 starts). He'll operate as minor-league pitching depth for the Angels in 2024 as he looks to finally get back to the big leagues and make his debut.
