Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov (undisclosed) did not finish Thursday's 2-0 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He exited the contest in the third period following a hit from Lightning forward Brandon Hagel, which earned him a five-minute major penalty for interference. Before leaving the action, Barkov helped to set up Nate Schmidt for the game's opening goal with 4:15 played in the first period. The Panthers captain also registered one block and one hit in 15:41 of ice time. Overall, Barkov has procured three assists in the series, including two on the power play. Tomas Nosek is likely to jump into the lineup if Barkov can't play in Saturday's Game 3.

Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov (rest) will not play on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres. The team will keep him off the ice for rest purposes. Barkov was also rested last Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings. He produced a goal and an assist in two games after returning and appears to be in good form ahead of the postseason. Throughout the entire campaign, Barkov has recorded 20 goals and 69 points in 66 games. With him out on Saturday, the Panthers are projected to go with Anton Lundell as the first-line center. He will be joined on the line by Eetu Luostarinen and Brad Marchand. All three players will have increased fantasy value.

Florida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov (upper body) will be absent for at least two more games. The Panthers captain missed Wednesday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to an upper-body injury and has been ruled out for Florida's back-to-back set over the weekend against the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings. Sam Bennett has taken over as the team's first-line center, while Anton Lundell has been promoted to the second line. Both players will boast additional fantasy value until Barkov returns.
