Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III was the 41st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker had a productive college career, totaling 263 rushing attempts for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns in his lone season at Michigan State. He had 217 rushing attempts for 1,158 yards and 17 touchdowns during his two years at Wake Forest.
Furthermore, the talented running back didn’t get many opportunities in the passing game. However, Walker made the most of them, totaling 19 receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown in college. More importantly, he was a star as a rookie in 2022.
Last year, the running back was the RB16, averaging 12.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he averaged 14.9 fantasy points per game after taking over as the starter in Week 6. Walker had 228 rushing attempts for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He also had 27 receptions on 35 targets for 165 receiving yards.

Kenneth Walker III Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Walker missed two games last year because of injuries. However, the talented running back has dealt with multiple minor injuries during his NFL career. Unfortunately, he suffered an oblique injury early in yesterday’s 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The second-year running back had four rushing attempts for 18 yards before leaving the game.
Earlier today, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that the team doesn’t believe Walker is a candidate to go on injured reserve at this time. However, he said they need to learn more about his oblique injury before determining how long the star running back will be out.
Kenneth Walker III Fantasy Football Outlook
Unfortunately, this injury is heartbreaking for fantasy players. Walker is the RB8 for the year, averaging 12.9 fantasy points per game. He has been the primary running back in Seattle, totaling 149 rushing attempts for 613 yards and six touchdowns this season.
Meanwhile, Zach Charbonnet will take over as the starter with Walker out. The rookie running has only 53 rushing attempts for 261 yards on the ground and 19 receptions on 23 targets for 92 receiving yards this year.
However, he played well filling in for the starter on Sunday, totaling 15 rushing attempts for 47 yards and six receptions for 22 receiving yards in the loss. Charbonnet will be a plug-and-play RB2 while Walker is sidelined.
