Allen Lazard Held Without A Catch Against Buffalo
1 year agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard did not secure his lone target against Buffalo, giving fantasy managers a goose egg in the team's 32-6 blowout loss. The output wasn't entirely Lazard's fault. Quarterback Zach Wilson completed less than half of his attempts for 81 yards before being benched in the second half. Backup Tim Boyle barely hit the 50% completion mark in his time on the field. The Jets' leading receivers were Breece Hall and reserve tight end Jeremy Ruckert. Garrett Wilson, Tyler Conklin, and Lazard weren't involved whatsoever. Coach Robert Saleh was noncommittal about who his starting quarterback will be on Friday against the Miami Dolphins. Regardless of who is under center, Lazard does not need to be on fantasy rosters moving forward.

Jets Give Permission To Allen Lazard To Seek A Trade
2 months agoThe New York Jets have given permission to veteran wide receiver Allen Lazard to seek a trade, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Jets are also open to bringing Lazard back in 2025 if he cannot find a trade partner. The 29-year-old probably won't have a robust trade market and is still more likely to be cut by the Jets after they overpaid for him on a four-year, $44 million deal prior to the 2023 season, mainly because he's best buddies with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Lazard had a mere 23 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown in 14 games in 2023 before going for a 37-530-6 line in 12 games in his second season last year. Especially because of the fact that quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't be back in 2025, Lazard will probably be on the move as well and could team up with Rodgers yet again, wherever he goes. The drop-prone wideout is unlikely to be a fantasy factor this fall.

Allen Lazard Expected To Be Released
2 months agoThe Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes that New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard is fully expected to be released after Year 2 of his disastrous four-year, $44 million contract he signed as a free agent in 2023. Lazard was downright bad in 2023 and played only slightly better with quarterback Aaron Rodgers last year before getting hurt late in the season. The 29-year-old was one of the most drop-prone receivers in the league and admitted that he struggles when Rodgers isn't on the field. The Jets will sav $6.6 million in salary cap space if/when they cut Lazard while taking on $6.5 million in dead money. If he's a post-June 1 cut, the Jets would save $11 million with a $2.1 million dead-cap penalty. Lazard was a major miss, catching 60 passes for 841 yards and seven touchdowns in his two seasons with the Jets. If Rodgers retires this offseason, Lazard would be pretty bummed.

Allen Lazard Hauls In TD Pass In Week 18
3 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard caught all three of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. Lazard brought in a 13-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter, giving him six in what was a bounceback season for him after he caught just one score last season. Lazard is under contract for two more seasons after he signed a four-year, $44 million contract before the 2023 season.

Allen Lazard Not A Strong Fantasy Option In Week 18
3 months agoNew York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard will finish up his 2024 season with a home matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 18. The Dolphins have been tough on wide receivers this season, allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Lazard has not been a significant part of the Jets passing offense since the team acquired Davante Adams at the trade deadline and is not a recommended fantasy option heading into the season finale on Sunday.
