Christian Watson Salvages Poor Performance With A Touchdown
1 year agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson caught two of four targets for 21 yards and a touchdown, adding one carry for a one-yard gain, during the team's 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The second-year receiver has not delivered as the top passing option for the Packers like most of us thought he would. Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Luke Musgrave all had more targets than Watson Sunday, with the trio of receivers all out-gaining the 24-year-old by a wide margin. The ball is being spread around in this offense, and it is limiting Watson's fantasy upside. Quarterback Jordan Love had his best passing performance of the season on Sunday, so do not expect the formula to change come Week 12. Even in a plus matchup against the Detroit Lions, Watson remains a boom-or-bust, low-end flex option.
