Oakland A's Officially Relocating To Las Vegas
12 months agoThe Oakland A's are officially on the move to Las Vegas after MLB owners unanimously voted to allow the move on Thursday. "Today is an incredibly difficult day for Oakland A's fans. It's a great day for Las Vegas," said much-maligned A's owner John Fisher. Under Fisher's ownership, the A's have been among the league's most frugal clubs in terms of player payroll. The club has ranked dead last in payroll in each of the last two seasons after trading away the likes of Matt Chapman, Matt Olson, and Sean Murphy while they have been in the bottom five in payroll in eight of the last nine campaigns. It's the second time an Oakland professional sports team has moved to Vegas after the NFL's formerly-known Oakland Raiders moved to Sin City beginning in January, 2020.
