Stephen Curry Injury Update for Fantasy Basketball
On Tuesday, it was reported by Shams Charania that Stephen Curry suffered a right knee sprain, but it was not clear at the time how long Curry would be sidelined.
Subsequent tests have shown there is no structural damage to Curry's knee and the team is now planning to re-evaluate Curry later in the week.
All we know for sure right now is that Curry will not be in the lineup on Thursday night when the Warriors take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. He should be able to return relatively soon since there's no structural damage to the knee.
Stephen Curry Fantasy Basketball Outlook
When he's on the floor, Stephen Curry is one of the NBA's best players. Through 11 games this season, Curry is averaging 30.7 points, 4.6 rebounds. 3.9 assists. 1.0 steals, and 5.6 threes per game. The 35-year-old guard is still lighting up the scoreboard. He's obviously a must-play fantasy option every night.
With Curry out against the Timberwolves on Tuesday, Chris Paul started and scored 15 points with five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. He should be expected to average double figures in scoring until Curry returns.
Fantasy managers might also want to give rookie Brandin Podziemski a look. With Curry sidelined, Podziemski played 39 minutes, scoring 23 points on 9-for-18 shooting with seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal. He was 3-for-8 from deep. Podziemski is a viable streaming play until Curry returns.
