Deshaun Watson Latest Injury Update - November 15
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is set to miss the remainder of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury. Watson had already missed a few games this year because of his banged-up shoulder, and he reportedly suffered a season-ending injury in the first quarter in the Week 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Watson had one of his better games as a Brown, completing 20 of his 34 passing attempts for 213 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Deshaun Watson Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has already missed three games this season due to injuries, as he was held out in Week 4, Week 6, and Week 8. Now dealing with an apparent ankle injury, what should fantasy managers expect in Week 11 when the Browns face the Steelers?
Right now, it's unclear. His ankle bent awkwardly while being tackled by the Ravens on Sunday during the second quarter in a way that looked like an ankle sprain, but Watson finished out the rest of the game.
In the past, players with ankle sprains have finished out a game but then missed time as the swelling didn't really set in until the next day, so Watson returning to the game isn't a guarantee that he's good to go in Week 11. However, the fact that he finished the game is still an encouraging sign. The team has not yet determined the status of Watson for Week 11.
Deshaun Watson Fantasy Football Outlook
Deshaun Watson has already faced the Steelers once this season. Back in Week 2, he was 22-for-40 for 235 yards with a touchdown and an interception against Pittsburgh.
If Watson plays on Sunday, he rates as a mid-range QB2 play. He had a season-high eight carries last week, but the ankle injury could lead to fewer scrambles. Watson hasn't been particularly good as a passer this season, completing 61.4% of his throws with seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
If he's held out, P.J. Walker will likely get the start. Walker has thrown five interceptions and just one touchdown this season. He's started two games and saw extensive action in one other.
