Khalil Shakir Fantasy Football Outlook
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir is coming off of a four-catch, 57-yard effort against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Before that, Shakir had six catches for 92 yards in a win over the Buccaneers.
The second-year receiver has seen his role grow lately. Over the first seven games of the season, Shakir never played more than 39% of Buffalo's offensive snaps. Over the past two games, he's at 65% and 71%.
That's resulted in some increased production, but is that increased production something that fantasy managers can count on ahead of Monday night's game against the Denver Broncos?
Should I Start Khalil Shakir in Week 10?
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs showed up on the team's injury report this week with a back injury. If Diggs misses Monday night's game, Khalil Shakir would see a definite increase in usage. However, the Bills expect to have Diggs for this contest, as he was removed from the team's final injury report.
That leaves Khalil Shakir in the same situation he was in last week, when Diggs played 95% of snaps and Gabriel Davis played 93%. Khalil Shakir was able to carve out some fantasy value with those two in the lineup so it isn't out of the question that he can do so again tonight. However, it's hard to trust Khalil Shakir in any league shallower than 14 teams.
Khalil Shakir is an intriguing DFS option though, as his increased role means that he has increased chances to produce. DFS lineups should usually be riskier than season-long lineups, making Shakir an interesting play.
