Top 5 Wide Receiver Performances of Week 11 College Football: Marvin Harrison Jr., Drake Stoops, more

Week 11 of college football is over and we saw a number of impressive performances this week. 11 wide receivers went for over 150 yards. Some of those players are mentioned below, but a quick shoutout to the players who aren't: Sean Atkins (South Florida), Savion Williams (TCU), Devontez Walker (North Carolina), Elijah Saratt (James Madison), Malik Washington (Virginia), Jacolby George (Miami), and Brian Thomas Jr. (LSU).

One thing I want to do every week here (since there's not an article specifically for them) is shout out the top tight end of the week. This week, that honor goes to Baylor's Drake Dabney, who caught four passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. He was one of four tight ends with more than 100 receiving yards this week. We also had two tight ends -- Auburn's Rivaldo Fairweather and Central Michigan's Mitchel Collier -- catch two touchdowns.

Below are the top five wide receiver performances from Week 11 of the college football season. These are judged through a combination of statistics, fantasy scoring, and game context, with consideration also given based on the team's offensive systems. Let's take a look at this week's top performances.

5. Kamdyn Benjamin - Tulsa

Tulsa's losing streak reached five games on Saturday with a 24-22 loss to Tulane, but one bright spot was the passing game, as Kirk Francis threw for 345 yards, including a touchdown to Kamdyn Benjamin. Braylon Braxton threw a touchdown as well, also to Benjamin.

Overall, Benjamin caught eight passes for 157 yards and those two scores while Carl Chester added five catches for 132 yards. it just wasn't enough to get past Tulane.

This was by far the best game that Benjamin has played this year. His previous career high in receiving yards was 61. He's made a big impact lately, catching touchdown passes in three of the last four games.

4. Isaiah Williams - Illinois

Isaiah Williams arrived at Illinois in 2019 as a quarterback before converting to wide receiver in 2021. He hasn't really been a star for the Illini, but he's provided solid contributions in his three seasons at receiver.

Over the past two games, Williams has really broken out. Last week against Minnesota, he caught 13 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. This week in an overtime win over Indiana, he had nine catches for 200 yards and two scores, including the walk-off game-winner.

This is the second time this season that Williams has had back-to-back 100-yard games. Before 2023, he'd gone for over 100 yards five times in his career. He's almost doubled that.

3. Reggie Brown - James Madison

The James Madison passing attack was all over UConn this weekend, with Jordan McCloud throwing for 457 yards. That led to some huge showings from multiple JMU players. Elijah Sarratt had 13 catches for 160 yards in the victory, and Phoenix Sproles and Zach Horton both had touchdown receptions.

The biggest numbers came from wide receiver Reggie Brown, who caught nine passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the 44-6 victory.

This was the third time in the last four games that Brown has finished with over 100 receiving yards, with a curious one-catch, 10-yard game last week sandwiched in there. He has three multi-touchdown games this season and overall has 45 receptions for 903 yards and eight touchdowns.

2. Drake Stoops - Oklahoma

Drake Stoops is an Oklahoma institution at this point, as he's in his sixth season with the Sooners. Coming into this season, Stoops was just kind of...well, on the roster. Sure, he played some, and he even caught three touchdowns in 2022, but he wasn't really contributing consistently.

That's changed this season, as Stoops has caught 62 passes for 692 yards and nine touchdowns. Over the first 45 games of Stoops' career, he had zero games with over 100 receiving yards. Over the past two games, he has two.

After catching 12 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma State last week, Stoops followed it up with the best game of his college career on Saturday in a win over West Virginia. He caught 10 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns. It was his second multi-touchdown game of the season, and also of his entire career.

1. Marvin Harrison Jr. - Ohio State

After an uncharacteristically quiet day against Rutgers last week in which he had just 25 receiving yards (albeit with two of his four receptions going for touchdowns), Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. put up big numbers on Saturday in a blowout 38-3 win over Michigan State.

Harrison caught seven passes for 149 yards and two scores in the victory while also adding a 19-yard touchdown run as well. The best receiver in college football has now caught at least one touchdown pass in six consecutive games and he's caught at least two touchdown passes in three straight games. Defenses just don't seem to have any answer for this guy.

The junior wideout has 59 catches for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, plus one rushing score. He currently leads the Big Ten in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, receiving yards per reception, and yards from scrimmage.
