Cole Kmet Catches Five Passes In Win Over Panthers
1 year agoChicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet came back down to Earth after two outstanding performances, finishing with five catches on seven targets for 45 yards in the team's 16-13 win over the Panthers on Thursday. This marks the third straight game with seven or more targets for Kmet after previously never having two in a row. Although quarterback Justin Fields (thumb) remained out, the Notre Dame alum has maintained a steady role in the offense. Kmet has had great games with both Fields and rookie Tyson Bagent, but the overall ceiling of the passing attack increases with Fields back. After being questionable most of the week, there's a good chance Fields can return for Week 11 with the extra days off. The Bears take on the Lions in Week 11, a team that allows the sixth-most PPR points to tight ends per game this year. Kmet is a solid play with either quarterback, as he has managed 20-point PPR outputs with both Fields and Bagent.
