Is De'Von Achane Coming Back in Week 10?
This would be the week that De'Von Achane is eligible to return from the Injured Reserve, but the Dolphins don't play this week. After playing the Chiefs in Germany last weekend, the team is on a Week 10 bye. They'll next face the Raiders in Week 11.
When Achane was initially injured and put on IR, it was reported that he was likely only going to miss the four games that he was required to miss.
Because of this, fantasy managers should anticipate that the exciting rookie running back will be back in Week 11 against the Raiders.
De'Von Achane Injury Update and Fantasy Outlook
Achane's expected Week 11 return will be good news for fantasy managers, as the rookie was posting huge numbers when he was on the field. In Week 3, for example, Achane had 18 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns while also adding four receptions for 30 yards and another two scores. The former Texas A&M star has played four NFL games, rushing for over 100 yards in three of those contests.
Once Achane is back on the field, he needs to be in fantasy lineups. He was an electrifying player over the last three games that he played and while it's possible the Dolphins bring him along slowly, the fact that the team is so confident in his Week 11 return should make fantasy managers confident that he'll have a sizable role once he's back on the field.
Consider Achane to be a high-end RB2 play once he's back, with the upside to be viewed higher depending on how the Dolphins end up distributing backfield touches over the remainder of the 2023 season.
