Kyler Murray Week 10 Waiver Wire Outlook
Kyler Murray (knee) has been activated off IR and is set to start in Week 10, barring any setbacks. In his career, Murray averages over 20 fantasy points per game thanks to his remarkable playmaking ability through the air and on the ground. The former Heisman winner will make his season debut after missing 14 straight games for the Cardinals.
Murray has consistently been one of the better options for a quarterback in most formats, thanks to his rushing upside. While the Cardinals haven't had the best offense this year, they have struggled with subpar quarterback play from Joshua Dobbs and Clayton Tune. He will have to adjust to playing in a new offense under new head coach Jonathan Gannon, but the long rehab process has given him plenty of time to prepare mentally.
With Marquise Brown, rookie Michael Wilson, and the pending return of James Conner (knee), the Cardinals have plenty of weapons to make noise offensively. Tight end Trey McBride has been a standout this year, and he stated that Murray "was electric" while taking first-team reps at practice. If Murray can return to 100%, he will likely be one of the best quarterback options on a weekly basis.
Should I pick up Kyler Murray in Week 10?
The Cardinals take on the Falcons this week. Atlanta currently allows the seventh-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, making the matchup an ideal one, on paper.
While Murray isn't the worst option as a starter this week, it's safer to stash him for now to potentially use down the line in the season. It isn't easy missing a lot of time and stepping in without skipping a beat. It's also smarter to make sure he's back to full speed before trusting him to win your matchups.
The Cardinals' quarterback has all the makings of a league winner, and you should be sure to stash him if he's still sitting on waivers. Not often can you add a quarterback with this much upside this late into the season.
