Luis Severino Progressing From Oblique Injury And Attracting Interest
1 year agoFree-agent right-hander Luis Severino's (oblique) rehab is going well and he's back to throwing and is currently feeling good, and there has been interest in him in from as many as eight teams. The New York Yankees aren't believed to be one of them. Severino missed the final month of the 2023 season due to a high-grade oblique strain, but he should be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season, barring any setbacks this winter. The 29-year-old threw only 89 1/3 innings for the Yankees this season due to injury and wasn't good with a 6.65 ERA and 1.65 WHIP. The Dominican hurler is a two-time All-Star, though, and went 7-3 with a 3.18 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 19 starts for New York in 2022 and could be a nice bounce-back candidate in real life and fantasy next season.
