The Seattle Seahawks took a beating in week 9, losing by 34 points to the Baltimore Ravens.
Despite this, we are beginning to see why Jaxon Smith-Njigba was the first receiver taken in the 2023 NFL Draft as he was one of the few bright spots for Seattle in Week 9.
As the season has progressed, the rookie out of Ohio State continues to carve a larger role out for himself in this Seattle offense.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Week 10 Waiver Wire Outlook
In the loss to Baltimore, Jaxon Smith-Njigba saw a season-high 82% snap share to go along with 7 targets and 6 receptions. Smith-Njigba turned these opportunities into 63 receiving yards, which led the team.
In a game where the Seahawks were basically dismantled, Jaxon Smith-Njigba still produced- 6 receptions for 63 yards. D.K. Metcalf only had 1 catch for 50 yards, and Tyler Lockett only had 3 receptions for 32 yards. Slowly but surely, the breakout is happening. #Seahawks pic.twitter.com/FkM4zkaTKH

It seems as though the rookie is making more of an impact for this team each week. He is also producing in fantasy as well. Over the past 3 weeks, Smith-Njigba has been a top-30 WR in PPR formats. After bye weeks is when rookies normally see increased roles on their teams, and that has definitely been the case with Smith-Njigba.
Should I Pickup Jaxon Smith-Njigba in Week 10?
It is clear that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is as talented as they come at the receiver position. The issue with him becoming a solid fantasy option has always been the potentially limited opportunities he would see behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. However, it seems that Smith-Njigba is becoming a player who can consistently produce in fantasy football.
Since the bye week, his average snap share has increased from 53% to 70.75%. This percentage is only going to increase as the season progresses, along with opportunities in the passing game. Smith-Njigba is a solid waiver wire option this week, with the potential to become a consistent starter on fantasy rosters.
