New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jones had a solid college career, completing 59.9% of his pass attempts for 8,201 yards and 52 touchdowns in three years at Duke. He also had 406 rushing attempts for 1,323 yards and 17 touchdowns in college.
The former Blue Devil started Week 1 of his rookie season. He had an impressive year, completing 61.9% of his pass attempts for 3,027 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. The 24 passing touchdowns remain a career-high for Jones.
Unfortunately, the former Duke star has had an up-and-down NFL career. He has thrown over 12 passing touchdowns in a season only once since his rookie year. However, Jones had a bounce-back season in 2022, completing 67.2% of his pass attempts for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Daniel Jones Injury Update For Fantasy Football
While the former first-round pick had a bounce-back year last season, he has struggled in 2023. Jones has completed 67.5% of his pass attempts for 909 yards and two touchdowns, compared to six interceptions in six games this year.
Unfortunately, the veteran quarterback had missed the past 3.5 games with a neck injury. Jones returned on Sunday to face the Las Vegas Raiders. Yet, he only had nine pass attempts before leaving the game with a knee injury. Today, an MRI confirmed that Jones suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
Daniel Jones Fantasy Football Outlook
Injuries have destroyed New York’s season. Jones will be the latest member of the team to go on injured reserve. The Giants placed Tyrod Taylor (ribs) and Darren Waller (hamstring) on injured reserve before the Week 9 loss to the Raiders. Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley and left tackle Andrew Thomas have missed multiple games this season with injuries.
The knee injury could have come at a worse time for New York. With Taylor and Jones on injured reserve, Tommy Devito is the only quarterback on the active roster.
New York’s 2023 season is all but officially over. The team is in position to land a top-three pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Therefore, fantasy players should expect the Giants to leave Taylor and Waller on injured reserve for the rest of the year. The only member of the team fantasy players should roster moving forward is Barkley.
