With Justin Fields sidelined due to a thumb injury, Bagent completed 18-of-30 passes for 220 yards, notching two passing touchdowns but with three interceptions. He also showcased his mobility by rushing eight times for 70 yards, although he did lose a fumble. Despite the team's defeat, Bagent exceeded expectations as the stand-in for the starting quarterback. The possibility of Fields returning for Week 10, as hinted by Bears' GM Ryan Poles, looms on the horizon, which would relegate Bagent back to the bench for the rest of the season. Chicago is set to face the Panthers, a team that ranks 23rd in points allowed to quarterbacks this season.
