Cole Kmet Scores Two Touchdowns Versus Saints
1 year agoChicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has emerged as a favored target for backup quarterback Tyson Bagent ever since a Week 7 game in which he received zero targets. Following a strong Week 8 performance, the 24-year-old had an impressive Week 9 showing in the team's 24-17 loss to the Saints. Kmet managed to secure six catches on eight targets, accumulating 55 yards and scoring two touchdowns. This marked the fourth occasion this season where he achieved double-digit PPR points, with two instances exceeding 20 points. Although there's a possibility of starter Justin Fields (thumb) returning in Week 10, Kmet seems to have a solid role, regardless of the quarterback. The overall passing game potential improves with Fields' return, possibly resulting in more consistent performances. The Panthers have allowed the 23rd-most points to tight ends this season, but Kmet has proven to have big-game ability.
