Lucas Havrisik Not A Great Week 9 Option
Lucas Havrisik started his first career game in Week 8 after the team cut Brett Maher due to his kicking struggles. Havrisik converted on each of his two field goal attempts and will look to build on that. With quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb) not expected to suit up and Brett Rypien to take his place, the team may struggle to move the ball consistently. Havrisik is a name to keep an eye on but should be avoided for the most part in the team's Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Browns Re-Sign Lucas Havrisik
Lucas Havrisik to an undisclosed deal on Monday and waived quarterback Jacob Simon in a corresponding move. Havrisik returns to the team after recently being waived on May 14. The 24-year-old spent time on Cleveland's practice squad last year and also went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in nine games in his rookie season for the Los Angeles Rams. As things stand right now, Havrisik is third on the Browns' kicking depth chart behind Dustin Hopkins and Cade York, so he's clearly not a lock to make the team's final roster for the 2024 season out of training camp and the preseason.

Browns Add Lucas Havrisik On Futures Deal
Lucas Havrisik to a Reserve/Futures deal on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Rams cut Havrisik on New Year's Day after he went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in nine games in his first NFL season. The 24-year-old was not very consistent in his first year in the league and will be hoping to compete for a roster spot with Cleveland entering training camp this summer and the preseason. The Browns used Dustin Hopkins for most of the 2023 campaign, but they had to pivot and sign Riley Patterson, who kicked for the Detroit Lions earlier in the season, when Hopkins was injured near the end of the regular season.

Rams Waive Lucas Havrisik
Lucas Havrisik on Monday. The 24-year-old took over as the Rams' starting kicker in Week 8 and went 15-for-20 on his field-goal attempts and 19-for-22 on extra-point tries in the nine games he appeared in. Havrisik had a decent fantasy run from Weeks 13-16 by making 10 of his 13 field-goal tries and all 11 of his point-after attempts in four games. However, he didn't attempt a single field goal in the Week 17 win over the New York Giants on Sunday and missed two of his extra-point attempts. Apparently that was the last straw for a Rams team that wants to shore up their kicking position after clinching a playoff spot. LA will mostly likely audition kickers this week and in the Week 18 regular season finale against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lucas Havrisik A Solid Week 17 Option
Lucas Havrisik has remained the team's starting kicker despite struggles. Since becoming a starter in Week 8, Havrisik has made 15 of his 20 field goal attempts and 17 of his 18 extra-point tries. There was talk of the 24-year-old getting benched a few weeks ago but that has died down as of late. He has attempted at least three field goals in each of the last four weeks and has become an intriguing fantasy option. Consider picking up and starting Havrisik as he faces the New York Giants in Week 17.
