Is Darren Waller Playing In Week 9?
New York Giants tight end Darren Waller has been placed on Injured Reserve, which means that he will miss at least the next four games for the Giants, including the team's Week 9 contest against the Raiders
Darren Waller had seven or more targets in three consecutive games heading into the Giants' Week 8 contest against the New York Jets. That strong play was stalled out when he suffered a hamstring injury, limiting him to two targets and one reception on just 17 snaps.
Waller landing on IR isn't a huge surprise, as he had already mentioned to reporters that he expected to miss multiple games. With a history of hamstring issues, it makes sense that the Giants will play it safe with Waller's status.
Should I Start Daniel Bellinger for Fantasy Football Week 9
With Waller sidelined, Daniel Bellinger should see additional playing time. Bellinger has been targeted just five times this season, catching four passes for 22 yards.
Waller's targets will likely be spread around to receivers like Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton. It's also possible the Giants end up running the football more. Last week, Saquon Barkley had 36 carries against the Jets. He should be a top running back play in fantasy leagues this week against a porous Raiders run defense.
