Darren Waller Injury Update - November 7th
Waller (hamstring) has been officially placed on the injured reserve on Saturday. The veteran tight end will now miss at least the next four games while he recovers from his hamstring issue. The Giants will now move forward with Daniel Bellinger as their starting tight end with Waller sidelined.
Darren Waller Injury Update - November 2nd
Darren Waller had seven or more targets in three consecutive games heading into the Giants' Week 8 contest against the New York Jets. That strong play was stalled out when he suffered a hamstring injury, limiting him to two targets and one reception on just 17 snaps.
Waller has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, his former team. He's also had a history of hamstring injuries. It sounds like that history may lead to Waller and the Giants being cautious about the tight end's return.
Waller indicated to reporters that he anticipates missing multiple weeks with his hamstring injury.
Darren Waller Fantasy Football Outlook
Darren Waller is out for Sunday's game and will likely be out for the team's Nov. 12 game against the Cowboys. Beyond that, it's unclear when he'll return. As of now, Waller hasn't been placed on the Injured Reserve, which would mean he would have to miss at least four games. As long as he stays off of it, he can be expected to return on Nov. 19 against the Commanders or Nov. 26 against the Patriots.
With Waller sidelined, Daniel Bellinger should see additional playing time. Bellinger has been targeted just five times this season, catching four passes for 22 yards.
Bellinger's unlikely to see a huge increase in production, even if he plays more. Waller's targets will likely be spread around to wide receivers like Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton, though it's possible the Giants just run the football more. Saquon Barkley had 36 carries last week against the Jets.
