Gerald Everett Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett missed Sunday night's game against the Bears due to a hip injury, but Everett logged practice time in the week leading up to the game. He was a game-time decision.
Considering how close Everett was to suiting up against the Bears and the long week the Chargers have ahead of Monday's game against the Jets, fantasy managers should expect to see Everett in that one barring a surprise.
We'll have to wait and see if Everett is on the team's initial injury report on Wednesday, but even if he is, it might not have much bearing on his Week 9 availability. It sounds like he almost suited up in Week 8, so it would make sense to see him this week.
Gerald Everett Fantasy Football Outlook
Before Gerald Everett missed Week 8, he'd found the end zone in back-to-back games. In his most recent game, he was targeted four times in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, catching three passes for 26 yards and a score.
While the touchdowns are nice, Everett has just one game with over 30 receiving yards this season. His best game from a yardage perspective was against Tennessee when he caught three passes for 47 yards.
Consider Gerald Everett to be a mid-tier TE2 play this week against the Jets. He's a talented player, but his lack of receiving yardage upside makes him a touchdown-dependent boom-or-bust play each week.
