Is Kenny Pickett Playing in Week 9?
Kenny Pickett suffered a rib injury during the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars after taking a hit from Adam Gotsis. Pickett left the game and didn't return.
Pickett finished the game 10-for-16 for 73 yards. He also had 10 rushing yards. Mitchell Trubisky entered the game after Pickett left and was 15-for-27 for 138 yards and a touchdown, but he was picked off twice.
On Tuesday, Pickett told the media that he is "playing for sure" on Thursday against the Titans. That's a pretty bold statement. It would be surprising to see Pickett miss Thursday's contest after showing so much confidence in his availability.
Kenny Pickett Fantasy Football Injury Outlook
It appears that Kenny Pickett will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans.
Pickett has struggled to move the ball this season. He hasn't had more than 235 passing tards in any contest and has only thrown multiple touchdowns once all year, throwing two of them in a win over the Raiders back in September.
Fantasy managers should expect Pickett to suit up, but he's little more than a QB2 option in fantasy leagues at this point. Pickett's performance this year hasn't instilled confidence in his fantasy football managers. To make matters worse, he takes on a Titans defense that has only allowed seven passing touchdowns all season. There's not much fantasy upside for Pickett in Week 9.
