Los Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. was the 70th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Henderson had a productive college career, totaling 431 rushing attempts for 3,545 yards and 36 touchdowns in three years at Memphis. He also had 63 receptions for 758 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in college.
Unfortunately, the former Tigers star had a limited rookie season, totaling 39 rushing attempts for 147 yards and zero touchdowns. However, he played better in 2020. That year, Henderson had 138 rushing attempts for 624 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 4.5 yards per rushing attempt. Yet, his best season came in 2022.
Henderson was the full-time starter in 2022 after Cam Akers suffered a torn Achilles during the offseason. The former Memphis star had 149 rushing attempts for 688 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per rushing attempt. Furthermore, he had 29 receptions on 40 targets for 176 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 12 games.

What Has Darrell Henderson Jr. Accomplished This Season?
Unfortunately, Henderson struggled last year, totaling 70 rushing attempts for 283 yards and three touchdowns, averaging only four yards per attempt. The Rams released the veteran running back after 10 contests.
Yet, the team re-signed the former Memphis star a few weeks ago after losing Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers to injuries. Henderson had an impressive performance in his season debut, totaling 18 rushing attempts for 61 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Last week, the veteran running back had 12 rushing attempts for 31 yards in the loss to the Dallas Cowboys. However, he had a meaningful role in the passing game. Henderson had three receptions for 54 yards against Dallas, leading the team in receiving yards.
Should I Pickup Darrell Henderson Jr.?
Despite playing well over the past two weeks, the former Memphis star is splitting the backfield work with Royce Freeman. After Henderson scored the goal-line rushing touchdown in Week 7, Freeman found the end zone Sunday against the Cowboys. Unfortunately, that made fantasy players extremely unhappy.
Henderson has averaged 11.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this season, scoring double digits in both contests. Fantasy players should add the former Memphis star off the waiver wire this week. The veteran has been the more productive running back and should have a role once Williams returns from his injury.
