Naz Reid Fantasy Basketball Outlook
Naz Reid has played incredibly well off the bench so far this season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After scoring 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting against Toronto to open the season, Reid had 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting against the Heat on Saturday. He also pulled down eight rebounds in the 16-point victory while adding one steal and two steals.
While Reid's minutes are capped by the presence of Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert ahead of him on the depth chart, he should continue to serve as the top big off the Timberwolves bench. He can play the four and the five for the team, which is relatively light when it comes to backup frontcourt options. Don't expect to see Reid scoring 25 points every night, but he should average double figures for the second year in a row.
Is Naz Reid A Good Fantasy Basketball Pickup?
Naz Reid is a popular waiver wire addition this week and that's for good reason, as he's played very well to open the season. Through two games, Reid is averaging 17.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game on 59.1% shooting.
While Reid's points should dip down a little, he'll be a reliable big because of his role with Minnesota. Fantasy managers looking to shore up points and field goal percentage should take a look at Reid if he's currently on your league's waiver wire. It's also worth noting that he's taken 4.5 threes per game so far, and while that would be a career-high for the fifth-year player, there's a good chance he averages at least one made three per game going forward, just as he did in the 2022-23 season.
