Justin Jefferson Season Recap
In five games this season, Jefferson posted 36 receptions on 53 targets for 571 yards and three touchdowns. The superstar wideout had three games of at least 149 receiving yards to begin the 2023 campaign before putting up 85 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers.
In Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jefferson suffered the unfortunate hamstring injury that would result in him going on Injured Reserve.
The 24-year-old was on track for another monster season, but his injury situation stalled his progress.
Should I Trade For Justin Jefferson?
According to ESPN, the Vikings will test Jefferson’s hamstring when he is eligible to return ahead of the Week 10 game against the New Orleans Saints. However, the injury was originally viewed as a four-to-six-week recovery, so he could be out until after the team's bye in Week 13.
His fantasy managers might not want to risk him being out that long, making him an intriguing trade target for fantasy football. Although there is risk built into it, trading for him could be a league-winning move when the fantasy football playoffs arrive.
Although Jefferson will still likely to somewhat expensive to acquire, his cost could be reduced since he is still sidelined for at least two more games – and possibly more. As long as you can survive until at least Week 13 without the players you would give up for Jefferson – it’s not a bad idea to put out some feelers in hopes of acquiring him.
