NFL DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Week 8 Monday Night Football
Jakobi Meyers OVER 4.5 Receptions
Meyers has been impressive to start the year, particularly from a PPR perspective where he ranks 13th among receivers after seven weeks. Meyers will be looking for his third top-10 finish this week against the Lions, a middle-of-the-road matchup for opposing receivers according to PFF’s Strength of Schedule metric (17th easiest matchup).
Meyers is averaging 6.2 catches and 64.2 receiving yards per game this year as the defined number two receiver alongside Davante Adams in this Josh McDaniels offense. Rotoballer’s Proptimizer outlines an 8% edge on Meyers hitting over 4.5 catches this week based on a Sharp App projected line of 5.6 receptions.
Jameson Williams UNDER 2.5 Receptions
Williams has yet to catch three passes in an NFL game, largely due to a dismal 23.8% catch rate for his career. With the Lions' receiver room finally at full strength (no injury designations), Williams will also likely return to the sub-30% snap share he experienced in Week 6, making his receptions under even more attractive.
PFF projects a 66.8% likelihood of this prop going under. The Raiders are the eighth-best receiver matchup on the week according to PFF’s Strength of Schedule metric; however, much of this advantage should be soaked up by more prominent targets Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Josh Reynolds. Continue to fade Williams until his usage changes.
Austin Hooper UNDER 12.5 Receiving Yards
This bet has everything to do with Michael Mayer’s rise as it does with Hooper’s deficiencies this season. The eight-year veteran has seen his snap share decrease to 34% in the last two weeks as Mayer’s has climbed (81% and 71% in the last two weeks).
Hooper has achieved a 9.9 yards per reception rate so far in his first season with the Raiders, meaning he is likely to need two catches to hit his receiving over. With Hooper now fifth in line for targets among the Las Vegas offense, there is value in fading the veteran this week.
