NFL DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Week 8 Sunday Night Football
Justin Herbert OVER 2.5 Rushing Attempts
Herbert’s rushing props are showing value on Sunday night. The 25-year-old is averaging 4.7 attempts and 13.3 rushing yards per game and has hit three or more rushing attempts in three of six games, including two of his last three. The Bears are giving up an average of 12 rushing yards per game to quarterbacks this season.
Chicago is 28th in defensive DVOA compared to the Chargers’ eighth-place offensive DVOA ranking. While Herbert’s rushing yard prop of 8.5 is also in play, his attempts prop has an added cushion from any potential kneel-downs to close out the game (the Chargers are favored by 8.5 points).
Rotoballer’s Proptimizer outlines a 24.7% edge on Herbert hitting over 2.5 rushes this week based on a Sharp App projected line of 5.0 attempts.
D.J. Moore OVER 56.5 Receiving Yards
Moore has excelled since landing with the Bears this offseason. He is the WR6 in PPR scoring, ranking fifth in the NFL in receiving yardage and tied for fourth in touchdowns among receivers. In Tyson Bagent’s first game under center last week, Moore tallied nine targets, eight catches, and 54 yards.
The Chargers have given up 75 yards or more to a receiver in every game but one this year, including an 84-yard performance from Marquez Valdes-Scantling last week. The Chargers deploy the 11th-most zone coverage in the league. Moore is 10th-best among wide receivers in fantasy points per route run against zone coverage.
Roschon Johnson UNDER 2.5 Receptions
The Bears rookie running back is expected to make his return Sunday night after missing the last two games with a concussion. With RB Khalil Herbert still on IR, Johnson is expected to mix in alongside last week’s top RB performer D'Onta Foreman.
PFF projects a 66% likelihood of this prop going over. Johnson has only topped two catches in a game once this season (Week 1) and has only surpassed 40% of the team’s offensive snaps twice. Expect his snap share to stay below 50% as he gets eased back into action and the Bears continue to explore what they have in Foreman.
