Aric Almirola stayed close to the front all afternoon at Martinsville on Sunday afternoon. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver will not drive full time in 2024 as he announced he would not return to the team next season. The driver of the No. 10 Ford started in 12th, led 66 laps, and contended in the later portions of the race. Almirola almost came back in the final laps to overtake Ryan Blaney but came up less than a second short. Almirola will have one more chance at a win next week in Phoenix. After all, he did finish sixth two years ago.

Aric Almirola had a solid qualifying effort on Saturday at Las Vegas. He starts 13th on Sunday. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver does have five top-2o finishes in his past six appearances on the intermediate track. Starting 13th hurts his place differential potential as most of the Ford cars have faded later in runs. That is the concern with Almirola here at Las Vegas. Almirola has never finished in the top five either. Again, the likelihood is that the No. 10 runs well early but fades later.

On Saturday, Aric Almirola went out and won the pole for this weekend's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, meaning the Stewart-Haas driver will lead the field to the green for the race. However, DFS players should stay away from Aric Almirola when building their lineups this weekend. When it comes to races at Talladega, the two main factors in a driver's scoring are place differential and finishing position. Almirola cannot possibly get a positive amount of place differential points, and even if he wins the race, he's going to be outscored in DraftKings by other drivers due to the place differential factor. Your DFS lineups should not have Almirola in them this weekend.

Aric Almirola qualified 21st on Saturday for Stewart-Haas Racing. He represents the best start for the team. Kevin Harvick starts 22nd on Sunday while Ryan Preece begins in 25th place. The Ford cars have lost a lot of speed, but particularly this team. Almirola, since the pandemic has run 24th, 18th, and 23rd at Texas. The No. 10 Ford loses enough speed as it is. More concerning is that the team itself is not among the top seven teams when it comes to Fall results. They are outside the top 15. That does not bode well for Almirola on Sunday afternoon.
