Chris Buescher Will Celebrate His 31st Birthday By Starting P18 At Martinsville
1 year agoChris Buescher, who turns 31 on Sunday, will start P18 in the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Heading into Sunday's elimination race, Buescher is 43 points below the cutoff line, which means he will likely have to win to advance to the championship round. With three wins on the season, one of which came on a short track (Richmond), it is certainly possible that the 9-year Cup veteran could claim his fourth checkered flag of the season, though I think it is unlikely. In his 16 Cup starts at the "Paperclip," the No. 17 has an average finish of 19.4 and just one top-10 appearance. Given that he has struggled at this track throughout his career, and that he has an average finish of 14.5 in his last four races this season, limit your exposure to the birthday boy this Sunday at Martinsville.
