1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie kicker Jake Moody will carry a tenuous momentum into a home matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. A week after a disastrous performance in Cleveland in which he missed two crucial kicks, including a game-deciding fourth-quarter attempt, Moody missed his first field goal attempt in Minnesota from 40 yards away. Perhaps more importantly, he hit a then-crucial fourth-quarter 55-yard field goal to get San Francisco within five points. Had he missed that kick, the 49ers may have started to look elsewhere but as it stands, Moody will continue to be a top-10 kicker as long as he holds the job and the offense stays healthy enough to consistently get into opponent territory.
