Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams suffered an ankle injury during the team's Oct. 15 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Before the injury, Williams was having a huge day, carrying the ball 20 times for 158 yards and a touchdown.
Williams missed the team's next four games on Injured Reserve, with Darrell Henderson Jr. and Royce Freeman sharing backfield duties.
When is Williams coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Kyren Williams Latest Injury Update - November 26
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams (ankle) was a full practice participant all week and was officially removed from the Week 12 injury report on Friday. It means that he will officially be activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and return to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals after missing the last four games while on IR. However, it remains to be seen if the 23-year-old will be eased back into LA's backfield after the long layoff.
Williams' full practice participation all week is good news, though, so he figures to see a decent workload in a plus matchup against Arizona. "I think we want to be able to give him a good workload, but I think that was something we had identified [previously]," head coach Sean McVay said of Williams, who will be backed up by Royce Freeman on Sunday. Williams will have RB2 upside for fantasy managers in his first game back. (TheRams.com)
Kyren Williams Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Kyren Williams has already missed two games with an ankle injury. Williams was placed on the Injured Reserve ahead of Week 7, so fantasy managers should expect to be without him for at least the team's next two games.
But it sounds like Rams head coach Sean McVay is optimistic that Williams will be good to go once the mandatory four-game absence is over.
If that's the case, Williams could return on Nov. 26 when the Rams visit the Arizona Cardinals. That's the very team that Williams initially suffered his injury against.
Kyren Williams Fantasy Football Outlook
There's still a lot of time for things to change in this Rams backfield before Williams returns, but the fact that he had over 100 rushing yards in two of the past three games he played suggests that he should step back into the starting role once he returns.
Fantasy managers should hold onto Williams until he's back. His upside makes him worth rostering despite the four-game absence.
With Williams out, Henderson and Freeman should continue to split carries for the Rams. While neither has the upside of Williams, both are streaming options for fantasy managers who need help at running back.
One complicating factor for Williams would be if Henderson or Freeman impress enough over the next two games to cut into Williams' workload once he returns. That would lower his ceiling, but it wouldn't change the fact that he'd be a must-start fantasy option once healthy.
